Overview
Significant volumes of traffic on Memorial Highway (SR 536) and College Way (SR 538) had damaged both roadways.
WSDOT repaved a five-mile stretch of Memorial Highway from SR 20 to the Skagit River and upgraded sidewalk ramps at several intersections.
WSDOT also repaved a section of College Way from I-5 to the railroad tracks (just east of Urban Ave.), replaced the asphalt at the Riverside Drive intersection with concrete and upgraded sidewalk ramps at intersections.
 | Improves Safety
Drivers get a smoother, safer ride. Sidewalk ramps have been improved to meet ADA standards.
|
 | Economic Incentive
Repaving the roadways reduces maintenance costs and preserves the highways.
