Overview
This projct made the SR 509/SR 518 Interchange safer for motorists, bus riders, freight haulers, pedestrians and bicyclists with enhancements that improve traffic flow and visibility.
 | Improves Safety
Reconfigured turn lanes and through lanes make traffic flow more smoothly with better visibility. Improved signal timing allows the interchange to safely and efficiently handle increased traffic demand. Enhanced signing and landscaping makes traffic more visible from all directions.

Partnerships & Cooperation
WSDOT worked closely with the city of Burien to coordinate construction of these improvements.
Funding
The project was funded by the following sources:
- $5 million from State and Local Funding
- $2.8 million from federal funding sources
