Overview
An emergency project to repair SR 508 at Bear Canyon began in spring 2007. Record rainfall in early November 2006 saturated the slope around the highway. Severe road settlement occurred at Bear Canyon, just east of Cinebar.
Through an emergency contract, crews were able to repair the damaged highway. Loose debris was excavated and the roadway was rebuilt with a Soldier Pile wall.
After crews worked to stabilize the damaged slope, they made additional repairs to the pavement and re-opened the highway to traffic.
 | Improves Safety
Repairs completed during this emergency project allowed crews to safely reopen the highway to motorists.
