Project Status - Complete
View detour map
The SR 410 detour provides a route around the Nile Valley landslide.

Crews built a temporary detour route through the Nile Valley community.

Overview
On Oct. 11, 2009, a massive landslide uplifted and destroyed a quarter mile of State Route 410 and changed the landscape and river dynamics of the Nile Valley forever. WSDOT and many other agencies established an emergency route around the landslide. In addition, Governor Gregoire tasked WSDOT and crews to build a temporary detour route which crews completed on Nov. 24, 2009.

A new route along the toe of the landslide will be open to traffic fall 2012.
