SR 31 - Metaline Falls to Canadian Border-Reconstruction - Complete October 2006

Overview
The previous roadway structure of SR 31 was adequate for automobile use and light trucks. However, heavy truck traffic would damage the roadway during spring thaw, forcing seasonal weight restrictions, thus limiting freight movements. The improvements to the roadway structure now assure year round legally loaded truck operations and support the reopened Pend Oreille mining facility.
