SR 3 - SR 106 South Belfair Signal - Complete July 2007

Overview
This project installed a signal system at the intersection of SR 3 and SR 106 and provided a left turn lane and right turn pockets on both SR 3 and SR 106. All lanes of the intersection now have a traffic signal. The intersection can manage traffic more efficiently. Drivers turning left from SR 106 to go north on SR 3 are able to make the movement safely and drivers waiting to turn left from SR 3 northbound onto SR 106 no longer block traffic going through the intersection.

How You Benefit
Cross GlyphImproves Safety
The signal system allows vehicles to make the left turn movements safely without having long waits for gaps in traffic. The left turn lanes  reduce the potential for rear-end collisions and improved traffic flow  helps to prevent other types of collisions.
Car GlyphRelieves Congestion
Installing the signals and adding the left turn lanes moves vehicles through the intersection without long waits for turning traffic.
