Overview
Reynolds Road and "B" S.E. have an accident history of night time collisions. This Safety Improvement Program project constructed illumination at the intersections of SR 26 and B S.E. and at SR 26 and Reynolds Road. Additionally, left turn lanes and right turn pockets were added both north and southbound at Reynolds Road. Construction of the illumination installation and intersection improvements at Reynolds Road began June 1 and was complete July 23, 2009. The new lighting at B S.E. was combined with the 2008 Region Chip Seal Project and was completed in July, 2008.
 | Improves Safety
The potential for night time collisions is reduced with the addition of illumination at these two locations.
|
 | Relieves Congestion
The Reynolds Rd. intersection is located a mile and a half east of Othello (about halfway to the jct. with SR 17). It's busy with agricultural, commuter, residential and Western Washington through-traffic, travelling to and from Washington State University. Turn lanes promote smooth traffic flow.
