Overview
This project improved safety on SR 240 from Beloit Road (Rattlesnake barricade) to Kingsgate Way, near Richland. The old narrow roadway was a corridor with a high number of accidents resulting in fatalities and disabling injuries. The improvements made by WSDOT have reduced the number of collisions along this route and provided a safer road for motorists.

The design improved safety for 18 miles by widening the narrow roadway to 12 foot lanes and 8 foot shoulders from Beloit Road (Rattlesnake barricade) to Kingsgate Way, near Richland.
