SR 21 - Slope Stabilization - Complete February 2011

Overview
This location along SR 21 had been the site of several large rockfall events in the past. This project removed loose rock material along with securing other parts of the steep rock slope. The contractor "scaled" the slope, removing loose rocks by hand, then larger rock sections were bolted into the slope. Following that work, a steel mesh net was installed. The net will assist in holding rocks to the slope and prevent falling rocks from bouncing out into the roadway.
