Overview
This section of SR 20 had been identified as having a high number of injury-producing collisions involving vehicles leaving the roadway. Construction started May 11 and was complete July 31, 2009. This Collision Prevention-Safety Improvement project installed guardrail where needed and removed roadside hazards along SR 20 between Mazama and the Aeneas Valley, east of Tonasket in Okanogan County. The NCR Seal 2009 project was consolidated with this one to reduce costs, improve efficiencies and reduce traffic impacts during construction.
