Overview
WSF retrofitted the existing bridge seat at the Orcas Island ferry terminal to bring it up to current seismic standards. A bridge seat is the platform that holds the moveable bridge, also known as a transfer span, which vehicles and pedestrians use to get on and off of the ferry.
 | Improves Safety
Retrofitting the bridge seat to bring it up to seismic standards will help prevent injury to ferry travelers and workers, and damage to infrastructure, during an earthquake.
