Overview
We repaved State Route 20 and improved sidewalks in Oak Harbor from Harbor Vista Drive to NE Narrows Ave.
 | Improves Safety
We improved 88 sidewalk ramps and 11 traffic islands to meet current Americans with Disabilities standards.
Repaving improves safety and helps reduce the risk of hydroplaning in wet weather, minimizes rough driving, and increases resistance to skipping and skidding.
We also restored worn-out safety features such as signs, striping and guardrail.

 | Economic Incentive
There is no more fundamental transportation capital investment than system preservation – keeping the existing infrastructure in good condition. As transportation facilities age and are used, a regular schedule of maintenance, rehabilitation, reconstruction and replacement is needed to keep the system usable.
