View project map

The work took approximately one month to complete.

Overview
winter storms caused Holder Creek to erode the embankment under SR 18 near the Tiger Mountain summit (milepost 22.3). This left the shoulder cracked and the roadside vulnerable to damage from additional flooding. We stabilized the hillside by building a large rock and gravel wall, known as a rock buttress.

How You Benefit
Cross GlyphImproves Safety
The new rock buttress will stabilize the hillside under the roadway and reduce the risk of the roadway cracking or sinking.
Dollar Sign Glyph Economic Incentive
The rock buttress will help prevent further damage to the roadway, eliminating the need for costly and inconvenient repairs.

Partnerships & Cooperation
We worked with contractor Tri-State Construction to complete this emergency repair project.

Funding

The project cost approximately $620,000.
