16 Deck Sections Arrive
On June 8, another spectacular chapter in the story of the new Tacoma
Narrows Bridge unfolded when the semi-submersible ship SWAN, one of the
largest ships of its kind in the world, delivered the first 16 of 46 bridge
deck sections. Gantry cranes will lift the deck sections into place sometime
later this month.
