All hands on deck!
In June, bridge crews will turn their attention to deck assembly work. A total of 46 individual deck sections, each averaging 120-by-70 feet, will be shipped from Korea to Puget Sound. Deck assembly will take place between mid-June and October.
May 16, 2006: Korean ship carrying the first deck sections and bound for Puget Sound departs from Koji Island.
June 12, 2006: First deck sections arrive by ship in Commencement Bay.
June 19, 2006: (Give or take a day), the ship sails to the Narrows channel and the first section is lifted into place.

Note: Ship departure and arrival dates may vary by a few days.
