Cable Spinning Continues:
As 2005 draws to a close, construction of the new bridge has passed the
75 percent mark. Cable
spinning is the fourth major phase of work after caisson,
anchorage
and tower
construction. Spinning is taking place on the south cable, where crews
are nearly finished with cables 12 and 13. A total of five strands have
been completed on the north cable.
