Overview
The city of Maple Valley and Gary Merlino Construction Co. made improvements to the the SR 169/SR 516 intersection, also known as the "Four Corners" intersection. The city widened the roadway to add lanes and turn pockets, installed a new signal at SE 264th Street, and built new bike lanes, sidewalks, curbs and gutters.
 | Improves Safety
The improvements will significantly reduce the number and severity of rear-end and sideswipe collisions. New sidewalks and bike lanes will also improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists.
|
 | Relieves Congestion
Over the next 10 years, it's estimated that the average travel time savings for drivers will be a total of 150,000 hours annually.
|
 | Economic Incentive
Traffic will flow more efficiently through the intersection and drivers will have better access to businesses in the area.
