SR 167 - 15th Street SW to 15th Street NW - HOV - Complete October 2008

Overview
Crews have added a continuous northbound HOV lane from the Auburn Super Mall to Interstate 405 in Renton. This new lane, as well as new metered on-ramps, will increase safety and reduce congestion on this important corridor.

How You Benefit
Cross GlyphImproves Safety
Metal guardrails will reduce median crossover collisions. Six modified off-ramps will decrease the chances of rear-end collisions by creating a smoother transition from the highway to the off-ramp. Widening the inside shoulder will provide space for emergency use. New lighting improves visibility.
Car GlyphRelieves Congestion
The new HOV lane and bypass lanes on the on-ramps will reduce congestion.
Leaf Glyph Protects Environment
Installation of nine retaining walls will reduce impacts to wetlands and wetland buffers. Stormwater treatment facilities will remove heavy metals and other debris from highway runoff.
