WSDOT repaved SR 167 between I-405 and Grady Way in Renton and on SR 509 between S. 174th to S. Normandy Road. These areas were cracking and rutting and WSDOT crews were regularly patching the roadway. Repaving has reduced the need for costly and inconvenient maintenance.
November 2010: Project advertised to contractors.
April 2011: Paving began on SR 167 from I-405 to Grady Way.
May 2011: Paving began on SR 509 from 174th to S. Normandy Road.
June 2011: Paving complete.
The new pavement provides a smoother surface for motorists and eliminated cracked sections of roadway. Crews also upgraded guardrail, pavement markings and signing.
