Rail - Blaine - Customs Facility Siding - Complete October 2009

Project Status - Complete

Overview
Congestion on the tracks south of Blaine, near the U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility, can cause delays for Amtrak Cascades passenger trains traveling between Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia. This project relocated the siding track to allow a train to pass by while a second train is being inspected. This will help support the more efficient flow of passenger and freight trains in the cross-border region.
