Overview
WSDOT saved the 21-mile rail line from abandonment in 1994 and helped to construct rail sidings on the line in 2002. With the rail line rehabilitated, cost-effective rail transportation will remain available to handle the increased traffic from different shippers on the line, including the Yakama Nation's two sawmills, which provide 250 local jobs.
