Overview
Construction began June 8 and was complete Nov. 19, 2009. (Read the News Release) This busy section of SR 17 in central Grant County experienced a steady increase in heavy truck and commuter traffic due to the business growth at both the Port of Ephrata and the Port of Moses Lake. Resurfacing the highway with Hot Mix Asphalt increased its weight carrying capacity in addition to providing a smoother and safer ride. This project and the SR 282 Ephrata South paving project were combined with the SR 17 passing lane project.
