Overview
WSDOT replaced damaged concrete panels and installed more than 56,000 dowel bars to support the roadway on 25.5 miles of I-5 between Martin Way in Lacey and 48th Street in Tacoma to create a smoother driving surface.
 | Improves Safety
The new, smoother road surface and less bumps and cracks in the roadway.
|
 | Relieves Congestion
When there's a large pothole on I-5, maintenace crews are called out to make emergency repairs. The new panels eliminate existing holes and ruts, eliminating the frequent calls for pavement repairs.
|
