Example images from existing low light cameras at Snoqualmie Pass on I-90. The new cameras will provide additional images of nighttime conditions across the pass.

Overview
WSDOT replaced existing cameras across Snoqualmie Pass with cameras that are able to function in low light conditions.

The traveling public is now able to view current weather and road conditions around the clock rather than being limited to daylight hours only.

WSDOT Traffic Management Centers are able to better alert the public of pending road conditions and emergencies that occur at night.

Cameras are a vital part of WSDOT 's communication strategy to keep motorists informed and traffic moving smoothly.

This project was constructed on existing WSDOT right-of-way; therefore, no partnerships were necessary.

This project is funded through the following sources:

• American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) -
$60,000
• Existing Funds - $1,000
• Total Funding Available from all sources - $61,000
