I-90 - Bellevue Way Interchange Ramps - Paving

Status

November 2009

  • This project was advertised to contractors in October 2009.

The pavement at the I-90/Bellevue Way SE interchange is rutted and cracked. To improve driver safety, WSDOT will repave the ramps at this interchange and upgrade the guardrail to current standards.

Why is WSDOT repaving the I-90/Bellevue Way interchange?
The asphalt at this interchange is failing. WSDOT maintenance crews must continually patch the ruts and cracks, but even those patches are starting to fail. Repaving the roadway help prevent constant maintenance.

The End Result
After the I-90 ramps at Bellevue Way SE are repaved drivers will have a smoother and safer roadway surface.

Project Benefits

  • Safety: New pavement will improve driver safety by eliminating cracks and ruts that can lead to collisions. New guardrail will also improve safety.
  • Economic Incentive: Repaving the ramps will extend the life of the roadway and reduce the need for costly and inconvenient repairs.
