Overview
WSDOT replaced pavement and enlarged the center circle of an existing roundabout near I-90 at W. Lake Sammamish Blvd. between Bellevue and Issaquah. Enlarging the center circle helps traffic from each direction move through the intersection more smoothly.
 | Improves Safety
Part of the reconstruction involved crews resurfacing the road within the roundabout. Drivers have a new smoother and long lasting road surface.

 | Relieves Congestion
Increases the number of vehicles that can travel through the roundabout during heavy travel periods.

 | Protects Environment
This reconstruction project was carefully designed to avoid increasing the overall footprint of the intersection. This allows us to complete our construction without affecting environmentally sensitive areas or wetlands.

Partnerships & Cooperation
The project team worked closely with affected communities and the adjacent elementary school to coordinate construction activities. We continue to work with drivers, the city of Bellevue, local schools and others to address traffic delays.
Funding
Reconstruction of this roundabout cost approximately $843,000.
