I-82 - Granger to W Grandview - WB Dowel Bar Retrofit and Concrete Rehab - Complete October 2009

Overview
This project is complete.

This project strengthened the westbound right lane and extended its service life by installing dowel bars in the wheel paths between each concrete panel. The project also replaced severely cracked panels. Grooves were ground into the road surface to improve traction and reduce hydroplaning.

The project restored signing, striping, and other basic safety features as well as improved traction of the roadway surface.

This project supported an estimated 105 jobs, which included jobs on the project, jobs producing materials for the project, and other jobs in the local community.

This project was constructed on existing WSDOT right-of-way; therefore, no partnerships were necessary.

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act - $6.9 million

State funding
Existing funds - $0.3 million
