I-5 Nisqually River Bridge The northbound I-5 Nisqually River Bridge was originally built in 1937 and then rebuilt in 1982.

On average, 112,000 vehicles cross the bridge each day.

Overview
Crews repaired the steel stringers that support the bridge deck and sidewalk, replacing a portion of the expansion joint, modifying joints between concrete panels on the bridge deck and repairing the steel trusses.  Construction started in May 2008 and was completed in July 2009.

Mowatt Construction of Woodinville was the contractor on the project.

We appreciate the patient and cooperative travelers who accommodated crews by driving safely during nighttime lane closures.
