I-5 - 5th Ave. NE to NE 92nd Street Noise Wall - Complete May 2010

Overview
WSDOT built a series of noise walls along I-5 in Seattle's Green Lake and Licton Springs neighborhoods.

Nearby residents will experience a reduction in freeway traffic noise. Noise walls are expected to reduce noise levels by up to half in areas closest to the walls.

How You Benefit
Leaf Glyph Protects Environment
Noise walls noticeably reduce freeway noise in the adjacent communities. Homes directly behind the wall will receive the greatest benefit. Neighbors may experience noticeable reductions in freeway noise up to three rows back from the walls, depending on the topography.

Partnerships & Cooperation
The project team shared information with the community through a variety of methods, including public meetings, mailings and e-mail updates.

Funding

2005 Gas Tax (Partnership Funding) - $9.083 million
