Interstate 5 (I-5) is the principal north-south motor route on the West Cost. It is the only Interstate highway that runs from Canada to Mexico. Beginning in the town of Blaine in the northwest corner of Washington, I 5 runs through Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and Vancouver, entering into Oregon through the Portland area. I 5 travels through many counties: Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, King, Pierce, Thurston, Lewis and Cowlitz.
