Overview
The NE 10th Street bridge improves access in the north end of downtown Bellevue, and relieves congestion at the NE Eighth Street interchange.

This project also allows motorists to travel directly across I-405 on NE 10th, instead of traveling to NE Eighth Street and project improves emergency access to the medical district.

How You Benefit
Cross GlyphImproves Safety
The bridge provides drivers and pedestrians a safe, new crossing of I-405, and decreases congestion-related collisions at other crossings of I-405 in Bellevue.
Car GlyphRelieves Congestion
The new bridge reduces congestion on NE Eighth Street by spreading traffic to a new I-405 crossing. Improves access to north downtown Bellevue and to the medical district.

Leaf Glyph Protects Environment
Crews built a new stormwater wetland site to avoid and minimize impacts to the environment.

Partnerships & Cooperation
WSDOT partnered with the city of Bellevue to build a new freeway bridge at NE 10th Street in Bellevue. The NE 10th Street Bridge was built in two stages. The city of Bellevue constructed the first stage. WSDOT constructed the bridge over I-405 in the second stage.

As part of our corridor Master Plan, our different projects fit together like puzzle pieces. The NE 10th Street bridge will eventually act as an anchor for ramps connecting downtown Bellevue directly to SR 520 as part of the Bellevue Braids project. Some of the bridge railings on the new bridge will be removed when the ramp is connected to the bridge and then reused on other projects or used as replacement parts if the railings become damaged.
