Project Delivery

Alternative Project Delivery - A+B Bidding
A+B bidding is a method of rewarding a contractor for completing a project as quickly as possible. By providing a cost for each working day, the contract combines the cost to perform the work (A component) with the cost of the impact to the public (B component) to provide the lowest cost to the public.

Design Build
Design-build is a method of project delivery in which WSDOT executes a single contract with one entity (the Design-Builder) for design and construction services to provide a finished product.

Statewide Program Management Group (SPMG)
WSDOT is making changes to the management of its capital construction projects. Over the next 16 years, $15 billion will be spent on new and existing projects to address some of the state's highest priority transportation needs.

Lessons Learned
WSDOT has developed a Internet-based lessons learned system that is an integral piece of the project delivery process. The database used to collect lesson information is now accessible to WSDOT, contractors and consultants through the internet. The goal of the Lessons Learned System is to support the sharing and communicating of what works and what does not for the purpose of improvement in project delivery.
