Overview
To preserve the roadway and to improve the driving surface, a Bituminous Surface Treatment (BST), also known as a chip seal, will be applied. It is a flexible, protective surface of asphalt emulsion and gravel that is applied to existing or repaired pavement.
The work included the following highway sections:
SR 20/Narcisse Rd. to Spruce Canyon Rd. (MP 363-372)
SR 21/Keller Ferry to Republic (MP 106-160)
SR 23/Lords Creek Rd. to Harrington (MP 54-66)
SR 25/Bossburg to Canada (MP 95-121)
SR 28/Harrington to Davenport (MP 118-131)
SR 206/Bruce Rd. to Mt. Spokane State Park Entrance (MP 3-15)
SR 261/ Sutton to Ritzville (MP 45-62)
SR 291/Wylie Dr. to SR 231 (MP 14-33)

Partnerships & Cooperation
WSDOT seeks to address the concerns of tribal nations using the process outlined in section 106 of The National Historical Preservation Act and the WSDOT Tribal Consultation Policy adopted in 2003 by the Transportation Commission as part of the WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan.
