Overview
We aligned New Bunk Foss Road with SR 9, aligned the off-ramp from westbound US 2 to SR 9 to form a T-intersection with the realigned New Bunk Foss Road, and aligned the westbound US 2 on-ramp to intersect with SR 9 from the realigned New Bunk Foss Road. We also added right and left-turn lanes on SR 9 and added signals to the westbound and eastbound ramps.
 | Improves Safety
The realigned intersection and new traffic signals will reduce accidents at this busy intersection.
|
 | Relieves Congestion
The realigned intersection, traffic signals and right and left-turn lanes on SR 9 will improve traffic flow on both SR 9 and US 2.
|
 | Protects Environment
We created new wetlands on 118th Drive SE, near Pilchuck River.

Partnerships & Cooperation
At WSDOT we seek to address the concerns of the tribal nations using the process outlined in Section 106 of The National Historic Preservation Act and the WSDOT Tribal Consultation Policy adopted in 2003 by the Transportation Commission as part of the WSDOT Centennial Accord Plan.
Section 106 consultation was initiated in 2001 with the Stillaguamish and Tulalip tribes. A Cultural Resource Survey was prepared and sent to the tribes for for their comment and review. Tribal consultation continued throughout construction.
