SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program


The eastbound lanes of SR 520 from Montlake Boulevard to 92nd Avenue Northeast will close the night of May 4-5 and again the night of May 18-19 for utility work. Learn more by visiting our Highway Closures page.

transition span insllationA giant hinge for the new SR 520 floating bridge is being installed near the Medina shoreline. The hinge -- a transition span between the floating bridge and the stationary east high-rise -- consists of eight 190-foot-long, 45-ton steel beams.  Read more here.

Program Overview

The SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program is enhancing public safety and mobility by replacing the highway's aging, vulnerable bridges and making significant transit and roadway improvements throughout the corridor. The construction program's planned improvements extend from I-5 in Seattle to I-405 in Bellevue.
