Agriculture employed more than 93,000 people in Washington State in 2005, representing 2.6 percent of all state employment (see graph below). Nearly 80 percent of all agricultural employment is located in Eastern Washington. Yakima County alone accounts for more than 24 percent of the entire statewide agricultural employment.
