WTP 2035 - Phase 1, complete
Provides policy guidance and recommendations across all transportation modes. It was adopted by the Washington Transportation Commission in January 2015 and delivered to the governor and legislature. The key findings of Phase 1 can be summarized as follows: Preservation and Maintenance, Safety, Freight Mobility, Public Transportation, Public Health, Accountability and Transparency. WTP Phase 2 - Phase 2
By December 2017 WSDOT will submit to the US Department of Transportation a
federally compliant long range statewide transportation plan that includes a 20 year forecast period for the development and
implementation of the state’s multimodal transportation system of roadways, ferries, public transportation, aviation, freight and passenger rail, marine ports and navigation, bicycles and pedestrian facilities. This phase will also implement the Governor’s Executive Order 14-04: Washington Carbon Pollution Reduction and Clean Energy Action. This Executive Order directs WSDOT to develop, adopt, and implement the multimodal, federally-compliant, long-range statewide transportation plan focusing on transportation strategies that increase efficiency, and reduce costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
