2013 Update
Washington’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan: Target Zero is updated every three years to ensure we are using recent data and research to analyze effective traffic safety strategies.
Our Project Team and Steering Committee, representing 17 organizations, state agencies and Indian Nations, are guiding this 2013 update. Partner organizations from all over the state, have multiple opportunities to provide input - through a survey, during the Partner’s Meeting, and by submitting comments on a draft Plan in August.
The Washington Traffic Safety Commissioners will have the final Plan to present for Governor Inslee’s approval in October 2013.
Why is our goal zero?
About 180 traffic safety professionals attended the 2013 Target Zero Partner’s meeting in March. We shared the updated data and priorities, and everyone discussed current and potential strategies.
