Bremerton: Manette Bridge closes to traffic Aug. 20-24 for maintenance

Monday, August 6, 2018 - 07:34

Update: Please note the bridge closure will continue into the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 24. The around-the-clock closure is one full day longer than originally announced.

BREMERTON – Take note Bremerton travelers: Crews will close Manette Bridge from 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, through Friday afternoon, Aug. 24.

“We appreciate everyone’s understanding as our crews do important work to preserve the lifespan of the bridge,” said Washington State Department of Transportation Bridge Maintenance Engineer Chris Keegan.

The total closure will allow WSDOT maintenance crews to seal the driving surface of the bridge. Crews will clean and then seal the bridge deck with epoxy. A portion of the total closure provides curing time for the epoxy.

Getting around
During the around-the-clock closure, vehicles will be detoured onto the Warren Avenue Bridge. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for their commutes.

People walking and biking will have access to the Manette Bridge. In limited cases, they may encounter delays in the work zone. Crews will work to minimize these delays whenever possible.
