GIG HARBOR – Starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 16, lanes and ramps on eastbound State Route 16 will close for striping work and maintenance on the electronic toll equipment, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. At 7 p.m., Thursday, design-builder Tacoma Narrows Constructors will close the 36th Street NW on-ramp to eastbound SR 16, and two eastbound lanes west of the toll plaza. At 10 p.m., the eastbound on-ramp at 24th Street NW will close, and eastbound motorists will be detoured to the Olympic Drive interchange. All lanes and ramps will open before 5 a.m., Friday, August 17.
The same closures may occur Friday night, depending on progress and weather (as striping work requires dry weather).
