VANCOUVER - I-5 will have lane closures in the Hazel Dell and Salmon Creek area on February 8 and 9, announced the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The single lane closures will occur during the following days and times:
Feb. 8 -9: The southbound right lane of I-5 will be closed from N.E. 78th Street to N.E. 63rd Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. One lane will also be closed on the N.E. 78th Street southbound on-ramp during these hours. If traffic is heavy in the morning hours, the lane closures will be delayed until congestion slows.
The closure is necessary for the installation of the Intelligent Transportation System Traffic Cameras. Due to supply conflicts, the subcontractor is performing work originally scheduled for the following week. The installation of the cameras is part of the I-5 widening project.
Advanced warning signs will be posted ahead of the closure, and motorists are reminded that all traffic fines are doubled within a construction work zone when workers are present (RCW 46.61.527).
