McGOWAN - The project partners involved with the US 101 Station Camp project in Pacific County today presented preliminary information on the archeological work taking place at the project site to the Chinook Tribe at their Tribal Council meeting in Bay Center, Wash. The tribe provided feedback to the project partners about the significance of the Station Camp site, but the status of the park expansion and US 101 highway realignment project remains unchanged.

The National Park Service's archeological team is currently finishing up fieldwork at the project site, and will issue a final report on their findings once the lab analysis of the artifacts and data collected is complete. This report will be shared with the project partners and the Chinook Tribe, and will assist in determining the project's next steps.
