The WA-Trans charter defines the roles and responsibilities of partners in the WA-Trans project. These responsibilities include approval of: the project charter, high-level project approach, final project business and functional requirements, and high-level project deliverables. Partners are also asked to provide input for the business needs assessment process. The goal is that the business value of WA-Trans will be demonstrated to a level that justifies partners sharing data, resources, and funding where possible.

Meetings are held biannually for the partners, monthly status reports are sent out and all efforts are made to provide them with regular communication and opportunities to provide input to the project. Input can be provided at meetings, by e-mail or phone to the project manager, or to the partners' representative on the WA-Trans Steering Committee.

Partners are also asked to provide data and participate in regional pilot projects.
