Traffic Data Section

The Traffic Data Section consists of the Data Collection and the Data Processing and Evaluation teams. The Data Collection team at the Transportation Data Office (TDO) is responsible for the collection of short count data (includes manual counts and 72 hours of tube count data) on over 7000 miles of State Highway. This includes data for Federal requirements, Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) Regional, City, County, and Regional Transportation Councils (Special Projects).

The Data Processing and Evaluation team at the TDO is responsible for processing the field data then evaluating the data prior to inclusion into the Transportation Information Planning Support (TRIPS) database and into the Annual Traffic Report (ATR). Also responds to data requests from the public and private sector.
