Standard Base Maps

Quadrangle Maps: 7.5 minute quadrangles, scale 1:24,000, are available for all of Washington State. Information displayed on these maps is limited to: State Routes, selected other public roads, cities, DOT Urban Areas, Public Land Survey, selected hydrography and selected other culture.

Urban Area Maps: Based on WSDOT Urban Areas, these maps are composed of Quadrangle Maps that have been combined and clipped to a uniform scale and format. Publication scale is 1 inch representing approximately 0.6 mi. Level of detail is identical with the Quadrangle Maps.

General Highway Atlas: An atlas has been created using the 7.5 minute quadrangles and other maps as base material. Information displayed is identical to the quadrangle map series. The scale is 1:60,000. The Atlas is published in separate volumes for Eastern and Western Washington.

State Base Maps: Statewide mapping is based on the USGS 1:500,000 scale Washington State map and published at 1:750,000 with: highway system, county boundaries and selected communities. The Puget Sound enlargement shows this congested area at a larger scale, 1:260,000.

State Wall Map: The State Wall Map is a single-sheet map which includes all of Washington State at 1:500,000 scale and a Puget Sound enlargement at 1:265,000 scale. Selected road information and culture are shown in greater detail than the State Base Map.
