Abstract: Streams in Washington that may be exempted from stormwater flow controls. These streams have a drainage area of at least 100-105 square miles.
Purpose: This file is one of three resultant files after performing the analysis described in Phases I and II to determine which streams in Washington may be exempt from stormwater flow control requirements.
Supplemental Information:
Developed as part of an analysis (Agreement Y-8314, TOD AN - Phase III Discharge of Stormwater to 5th Order Streams: Definition of Exempt Stream Boundaries in Washington) to determine which western Washington streams may be exempted from stormwater flow control for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Phases I and II of the project consisted of a position paper and workshop describing a methodology for determining which streams may be exempted from stormwater flow control by looking at a combination of drainage area, cumulative changes in watershed vegetative cover, and percent impervious area.
