Geospatial_Data_Presentation_Form: tabular digital data
Description:
Abstract:
This table contains water crossing structures located under WSDOT roads statewide. A subset of this data lists culverts that are subject to U. S. District Court Injunction No. C70-9213, Subproceeding No. 01-1, the U.S. versus Washington fish passage barrier list (US v. WA). Culverts subject to this injunction are fish passage barrier culverts on salmon or steelhead streams within Water Resource Inventory Areas (WRIAs) 1-23. These culverts are further flagged as either having greater than two hundred meters of potential fish habitat upstream or less than two hundred meters of potential habitat, which information is used for prioritizing and scheduling correction of the barriers on this list. This list is a “snapshot” in time and may change as new information is collected and barriers are either removed or added to this list. Any changes to the case area culvert list will be reported annually in July.
Purpose:
This table contains supplemental information for use with the WSDOT fish passage inventory data, and is relevant to US v. WA. It is used for tracking and reporting on fish passage barrier corrections in order to meet the mandates of the Federal Court Injunction.

This database is provided solely for your information and should not be used to independently plan or execute fish passage projects. Fish passage project development requires detailed engineering and specialized construction techniques to meet local and state standards for fish passage and public safety. Such projects require careful planning and often involve complex legal issues such as liability, property easements, post-project performance evaluations and long-term maintenance obligations.
