The
One-Road Pilot Data User Portal Prototype is installed;
has been tested and meets expectations. This is the first
iteration and the second iteration will be installed the
first week of April 2008. |

One Road will represent the best transportation data available
from various sources, include mechanisms to improve over time
and provide data which can be shared with GISDC partners and
other organizations at the least cost with the least restrictions.
The One Road Pilot is focused on the research, the detailed
documentation of processes and the development of prototype
software utilities to support sharing and integrating GIs
data. Working prototype software tools are expected because,
by the nature of the necessary research; production level
software may not be possible in the time frame and funding
of the One Road Pilot.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), through
WA-Trans, in partnership with the Oregon Department of Transportation
(ODOT), established a consortium of public and private entities called
the Geo-spatial Integration and Sharing Data Consortium (GISDC). The
GISDC was created to organize the partner states for the purpose of
developing computer based tools that facilitate geo-spatial transportation
data sharing and integration for a variety of purposes and uses. Additional
state departments of transportation have been added to include the
Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Tennessee Department of
Transportation (TDOT) and the Nebraska Department of Roads (NDR).
Other states have expressed interest. WA-Trans and the GISDC are actively
pursuing new members. The GISDC will be active in the One Road Pilot
through the GISDC Advisory Team, composed of representatives from
the GISDC |
