Roadway Systems Branch

The Roadway Systems Branch collects and processes a variety of information about more than 7,000 miles of State Highway. This includes horizontal and vertical alignment data on each highway; geometric data which is contained in the State Highway Log; videotaping the entire State Highway system every two years and producing State Route Viewer (SRview); utilizing Global Positioning System (GPS) to collect location data for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications; and inventorying roadways to determine proper decision sight distance required to safely pass a vehicle.
