State Route Web (SRweb) Disclaimer

SRweb mileposting may not always be reflective of the State Highway Log mileposting. Some of the reasons attributed to this could include vehicle drift, divided highways, camera perspective and equipment limitations.

Vehicle Drift:

Distance Measuring instruments or DMI's are connected to vehicle transmissions and measure vehicle road track. As a vehicle "drifts" within a 12' lane, milepost readings will vary from driver to driver in locating highway features.

Divided Highways:

The State Highway Log is created based on the increasing milepost direction. When highways are divided and carry different alignments, features viewed on the decreasing milepost direction will not always match the increasing milepost direction

Camera Perspective:

Video camera viewpoint is projected outward from the van approximately 15' to 20'. The DMI reading is based on the position milepost location of the van.

Equipment Limitations:

Due to vehicle drift, field staff must make corrections to the Distance Measurement Instrument (DMI) to synchronize SRview/SRweb mileposting with the State Highway Log. During this time digital images are lost and cannot be saved.
